Midwestern Manifesto
Amber Koprin and Michelle Whitmer

Amber Koprin. A Little Tight for a Garden.

Michelle Whitmer. Tully Hat.
Working Artists Collective's first two-person show, Midwestern Manifesto, highlights recent works in an extensive array of media from Amber Koprin and Michelle Whitmer. Both having grown up in the midwest, they take much of their inspiration from its unassuming architecture, artifacts, and average Americans. Streetscapes stretch and wind, vehicles hum in the summer heat, a rusted bike lurches in the snow in anticipation of the encroaching spring semester, warm walks after sunset reveal a cozy glow behind ivory bars of vinyl: This is familiar. This is home.
